Detect & Protect has secured the fire sprinkler package at Ambassadors House in Scarborough for Urban Wave Ltd. The appointment adds a new client to our portfolio and continues an established working relationship with Craig Collishaw.

The former Ambassador Hotel is being transformed into a collection of luxury apartments on Scarborough’s Esplanade. Its prominent cliffside setting makes the development a distinctive addition to our residential sprinkler project portfolio.

Supporting a change from hotel to residential use

Conversion projects bring together an existing building and a new residential layout. For a sprinkler contractor, early coordination with the construction team is valuable in understanding the planned accommodation, service routes and installation sequence.

Clear communication before work starts helps the parties agree responsibilities and organise the sprinkler installation around the wider programme. It also provides an opportunity to address design queries while other aspects of the building are being developed.

A new client relationship built on previous experience

Although Urban Wave Ltd is a new client for Detect & Protect, our team has worked successfully with Craig Collishaw on previous projects. That experience provides a useful foundation for collaboration on Ambassadors House.

Sprinkler works were scheduled to commence in November 2026 when we announced the appointment. We look forward to working with Urban Wave Ltd through the delivery of the fire sprinkler package and thank Craig and the team for placing their trust in us.

Detect & Protect works with developers, main contractors and building services partners on residential sprinkler installations across the UK. If you are planning an apartment development or building conversion, our team can discuss the project requirements and delivery approach.
