In this essential position, you will take charge of delivering Fire Sprinkler projects with exceptional efficiency, ensuring timely completion while adhering to budget constraints and fulfilling both customer and regulatory requirements.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead Project Initiation and Handover Meetings**: Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including Sales, Design, and Quantity Surveying teams, to facilitate a smooth project Start.
  • Project Programme Management: Formulate and uphold a detailed project programme to steer timelines and key milestones.
  • Client Communication: Cultivate robust communication channels with clients throughout the entire lifecycle of each project, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
  • Internal Cost Meetings: Actively engage in internal project Cost to Complete (CTC) meetings to monitor and maintain financial health.
  • Documentation Management: Guarantee the thorough completion and submission of all end-of-project documentation, such as Operation & Maintenance manuals, As-Fitted Drawings, and Certifications to the relevant stakeholders.
  • On-Site Resource Management: Support and supervise on-site resources, swiftly addressing any issues that may arise to uphold project schedules.
  • On-Site Inspections: Conduct and thoroughly document on-site inspections in accordance with EHS001 scheduled frequency requirements.
  • Toolbox Talks: Organize and lead on-site toolbox talks to enhance safety awareness and promote best practices among team members.
  • Health & Safety Documentation: Complete all Health & Safety-related documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs), as well as attendance records.

 

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Residential Sprinklers (BS 9251:2021).
  • Expertise in Commercial Sprinklers (BS EN 12845).
  • Familiar with Dry & Wet Risers (BS 9990).
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, high-budget projects within the construction sector.
  • Skilled in effectively managing on-site labour and resources.
  • Valid SMSTS / SSSTS & CSCS Card Holder.
  • Experience in producing project documentation, including RAMs, Quality Plans, Project Plans, and Cost Sheets (CTC).
  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to identify and maximize project cost savings.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Qualified Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up and the implementation of accounting processes, managing financial transactions, and producing accurate monthly and year-end accounts. This position is suited for an individual with a strong understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and a passion for contributing to the success of a growing company with an order book of more than 5 million.

About Us

Detect & Protect Limited is a leading fire sprinkler business dedicated to providing innovative fire safety solutions. As we establish our new accounting department to support our growing operations, we are looking for a qualified Accountant Manager with extensive experience in the construction sector.

What You Will Be Doing

·    Financial Management: Manage the complete accounting cycle, including transaction processing, monthly reconciliations, and year-end financial statements.

·    CIS Compliance: Ensure compliance with CIS regulations, including accurate tax deductions, reporting, and submissions to HMRC.

·    Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, and forecasts to senior management.

·    Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts to support operational decision-making.

·    Process Improvement: Establish and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and accurate financial reporting.

·    Team Leadership: Oversee and manage any junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

·    Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

·    Audits: Coordinate and support internal and external audits as required. 

Requirements

·    Education: A recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

·    Experience: Minimum of 2 year’s experience in accounting within the construction sector, with a proven track record of producing financial statements.

·    Technical Skills: Strong understanding of CIS and relevant tax legislation; proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

·    Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

·    Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.

·    Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Salary Range: £40 k - £45k, negotiable based on experience.

· Holiday: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Role purpose:

  • Installation Engineer carrying out new and retro installs of residental fire sprinkler systems nationwide;
  • Completing electronic reports via mobile device,
  • Working closely with designated project manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge and experience within the sprinkler industry is required with a full understanding of BS 9251.
  • Applicants must be reliable, have a full driving license, be a team player and have good communication and IT skills.
